Mayflower Resolution on the Thames

Mayflower Resolution on the ThamesThe Mayflower Resolution was designed to install wind turbines in hostile coastal environments and was used to install the North Hoyle wind farm in North Wales. This photo was taken on the River Thames by Shad Thames. I wonder what it is doing on the River Thames?

We all work right by the river on Shad Thames, and are mystified by it. We wondered if it was a dredging machine. We also wondered if it is a children's home for really naughty children.

Excellent photo

Very moody !!!

Reminds me of a futuristic Battersea power station suspended in oil

Hello,

It's a jack-up vessel used generally for the installation of offshore wind turbines. Here for promotional purposes, lots of top bods going on board for a look-see.

Hope this helps.

Andrew,

Nice shot, not sure how you found out about it but we can see it from above from our office and everyone kept asking what it was so I phoned the port of london authority and they said what you said! I forgot to ask them why its on the Thames though!

the fact that no one seems to know what this is doing on the Thames in London makes the image even better than it is!

Hi, awesome photo.
I am a model ship builder and would very much like to build a model in 1:72 scale of her. If you have any info, please send to paul_bosanquet@tsn.cc thanks.

hi, the mayflower resolution is based in my hometown of middlesbrough and it makes a nice sight when docked not too far from the famous transporter bridge, we tend to have a lot of modern ships on the river these days, mainly cable laying vessels. rjb2000@ntlworld.com
