A charm invests a face

A charm invests a faceA charm invests a face
Imperfectly beheld.
The lady dare not lift her veil
For fear it be dispelled.

But peers beyond her mesh,
And wishes, and denies,
Lest interview annul a want
That image satisfies.

Poem: Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

Nice portrait! I like the glow of the hair on her shoulders; what sort of lighting did you use here?

I love the picture. It has such a great mood... Your eyes get drawn to hers the very moment you look at the photo... And the model herself - she's so beautiful..

Andrew, your photos are just getting better and better. This one is stunning. Who's the model ? As per other comment, can you share how you did the lighting? Thanks paul

Thanks for your comments. To answer the lighting question from Michael and Paul - This shot was taken in a studio with a black cloth background. Two lights were used without a reflector. This setup was designed to create a dramatic effect. The main light was to the left of the model whilst the 2nd was behind and high above the model. It was used to create a subtle backlight, highlighting the shoulders and hair. Camera: Canon 20D. Lens: Canon EF 24-70L USM f2.8.The model Alison, who is a botanist, deserves a lot of praise for her fantastic pose.
