Ready Steady Go

Ready Steady GoThe cyclists always move to the front of the traffic and at the first oppurtunity, jump the lights to get a head start. Sometimes I ride my Vespa into work or ride my bicycle. It just depends on the weather. This photo was taken when I was on my Vespa! My G5 was round my neck and I just took the photo very quickly before the lights changed. I think the angle is interesting and that explains what I was doing in the middle of road behind a motorcyclist. Next time I will take a photo of a superbike or perhaps people crossing the road from the same angle.

Cycle Courier

A bicycle courier rests at lunchtime in Finsbury Circus which is one of the most prominent of the City's open spaces. What is unique about this open space is that it is elliptical. The buildings on each side are formed by a pair of graceful curved terraces and typically of the City, house the offices of banks, insurers and petro-chemical companies. Until last week, I used to work there but from Monday I’ll be working in Bishopsgate which is just round the corner.

Hot People

I was having breakfast in my company's restaurant (well canteen) and these chaps were putting up scaffolding on the building across the road. It’s at times like this that I appreciate air conditioning. My colleague and friend commented on how hot they looked. She had a smile on her face when she said it though. :-)

Kookai

We are surrounded by advertising everywhere. On the lorry there is a picture of a woman wearing a Kookai dress, on the taxi an ad for DWS Investments and on the scaffolding there is the name of the scaffolding company. Taken on Bloomfield Street towards Finsbury Circus.

Broken Telephone Kiosk

This is the smashed window of a BT telephone kiosk. What really impressed me was the fact that the next day the kiosk was fixed and the window had been replaced. Taken in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey.

Seventies Party

I was riding in Rotherhithe on my bicycle when I happened across this couple. So I decided to ask if I could take their photo and they were very obliging. What I thought was so interesting about this couple was the clothes they were wearing. They were off to a seventies party and were waiting for cab. So that's the story.

Why?

Graffiti in Maltby Street, Bermondsey. Although this was taken recently, it seems that this piece of graffiti has been on this wall since 2001. I wonder what the artist was questioning.
