I took this portrait of Stephen one evening when preparing for a social event after work. As it happens, Stephen is the photographer that took the picture of me, which I use on this blog in my profile.

Fountain in the Tower Bridge Piazza

Hidden behind Shad Thames in the Tower Bridge Piazza is a fountain which is shaped like a jacuzzi. Around the tub are five or six figures. I decided to convert the picture to black and white to create some atmosphere and to get rid of the distracting colours in the background.

This is the first photo I've published that was taken with my new Canon 20D SLR which I am very pleased with.

This year, London marked the 2005 New Year with a two minute silence in memory of the victims of the earthquake and Tsunami. This was followed, at midnight, by fireworks and a lighting display at the British Airways London Eye which was visible from all over London.

These photos were taken from Waterloo Bridge. On the left is the London Eye and to the right you can see Big Ben, which is one of London's best-known landmarks.
